Step 1: Choose a real estate agent 

The first step of the process would be to choose a real estate agent. Buyer agents are an important partner to guide you throughout the process and can provide you with helpful information and resources for one of the largest and most exciting purchases of your life. Their knowledge of the nuances of a transaction, negotiating skills, and familiarity with the neighborhoods you want to live in can be extremely valuable. Step 2: Determine how much you can spend on a home

If you aren't paying cash for your home, your agent can help to get you in contact with a bank who can pre-approve you for a mortgage. Once that amount is determined, you and your agent can discuss & establish the neighborhood, type of a house and any other preferences on your wish list. 

Step 3: Start your Search  

Let the shopping begin! Your agent will hand-select homes that fit your criteria and collaborate with you as you attend both open houses and private showings. 

Step 4: Make an Offer 

Once you find a home you love, it's time to make an offer. At this juncture it is vital to have representation from a buyers agent to be able to generate the offer that gets presented to the seller. Your buyers agent will negotiate with the sellers agent in order to get you the best possible deal. Once an offer is accepted, there will be a due diligence period where the buyer can inspect the home and work with the bank to complete the mortgage process. You will have professionals every step of the way to guide you. 

Step 5: Closing Time

Once all contingencies are fulfilled it's closing time - The team behind the buyer will finalize every last detail & hand you the keys to your new home!
