South End
Boston’s South End is located south of Back Bay. It is home to a thriving arts community, many small parks and some of Boston’s finest restaurants. During the mid 1800’s the South End was originally planned to attract the wealthy merchant class with its elegant townhouses and thirty parks. This neighborhood now consists of a diverse blend of young families and professionals. Residential housing consists of one of the largest Victorian brownstone districts, while the neighborhood’s restaurants, bars, galleries, and boutiques line the Washington and Tremont streets.
